The 95210 Campaign is a national campaign implemented locally by Healthy Floyd to encourage school-aged children to have 9 hours of sleep, 5 daily servings of fruits and vegetables, no more than 2 hours of screen time, at least 1 hour of physical activity, and 0 sugary drinks or tobacco products each day.
The initial campaign included 100 posters and banners displayed in Floyd County schools, services, and businesses, trainings for schools and families, informational booths with resources set up at local festivals and events, and articles on the front page of the Floyd Press.
A community-wide effort, local supporters included the Barter Clinic, Black Water Loft, Blue Ridge Center for Chinese Medicine, Carillion Clinic, Collins Chiropractic Clinic, Dr. Conduff, Floyd Baptist Preschool, Floyd Carillion Clinic, Floyd Country Store, Floyd County Health Department, Floyd County Public Schools, Floyd Farmers Market, Floyd Pharmacy, Floyd Press, Food Lion, French Family Dentistry, Harvest Moon, Healing Tree Wellness Center, Jacksonville Art Center, Jessie Peterman Library, Jim’s Grill, June Bug Center, Mickey G’s Restaurant, Milestone’s Child Care, Mainly Mattresses, Mitchell’s Music, Natasha’s Restaurant, New River Community Services, Plenty!, Ray’s Restaurant, School House Fabrics, Slaughter’s Grocery, Smart Beginnings New River Valley, Subway, SustainFloyd, Tri Area Health Clinic, Tuggle’s Gap Restaurant, Virginia Cooperative Extension, WIC Garden, Wooly Jumper Yarns, and others.
